The following is a summary of all unexplained Construction elements and their possible explanations of origin form the “Legends”:
Sigiria – Sri Lanka
Unexplained Construction Elements
- 3 million clay bricks transported to the top of a 650-foot rock with no evidence of ancient stairways
- Thousands of heavy white marble blocks (not native to the area) moved to the peak without clear pathway
- Strange tool marks carved at locations where no slopes exist for humans to stand
- Circular holes drilled into the rock near its peak with no explanation for drilling method
- Mysterious groove marks that appear made with advanced machines that drilled or melted the rock
- Enormous granite water tank (90 ft x 68 ft x 7 ft) carved into solid granite with over 3,500 tons removed
- No chisel or hammer marks on granite tank, only scoop-like marks resembling those at megalithic sites in Egypt and Peru
- Water tank never dries up even during hot seasons and never overflows during monsoons
Origin Explanations
- Local legends state the city was built thousands of years before King Kashyappa by Raana, an ancient Hindu god
- Raana belonged to the Assura, a race of beings who came down from the sky and ruled over portions of humanity
- Ancient texts describe the Assura as powerful superhuman demigods who came to earth thousands of years ago
- Suggestions that the Assura used vimmanas (flying vehicles described in Hindu mythology) to aid in construction
- Mahabharata speaks of aerial cities belonging to the Assura
- Giant carved feet at entrance have three claws (like ancient reptiles), referred to as Raana’s feet
- Raana described as hybrid being – father was human, mother was a different species, possibly reptilian
- Raana was at least 10 feet tall with abilities to shapeshift and become almost invisible
- Ancient Tamil and Sinhala texts describe the Naga, reptilian hybrid beings who inhabited Sri Lanka and were forced to live underground
- Some believe these beings still live underground to this day
Dwarka – India
Unexplained Construction Elements
- Submerged ruins beneath 120 feet of water vast enough to shadow modern-day Manhattan
- City possibly dating back 12,000 years to the younger dryas period
- Advanced urban planning and sophisticated water management systems
- Large blocks of sandstone and limestone expertly cut and fitted with precise angles and interlocking joints
- Dry stone masonry without mortar showing mastery of technique
- Harbor structures with anchorstones and jetties demonstrating advanced engineering
Origin Explanations
- Constructed under direction of Vishukarma, the divine architect
- Built as the abode of Lord Krishna with palatial buildings made of gold, streets lined with precious stones, and gardens with celestial trees
- City described as impregnable fortress
- Mahabharata and Vedic texts describe vimmanas (flying vehicles the gods used to travel from heaven to earth)
- References to powerful explosives and advanced weapons of mass destruction
- City submerged after Krishna’s departure following catastrophic events
- Represents divine and cosmic order, its submersion as metaphor for cycle of creation and destruction
Kyasa Temple – Maharashtra
Unexplained Construction Elements
- Carved from single piece of rock from the top down (reverse engineering)
- 400,000 tons of rock removed – requiring 5 tons per hour extraction for 18 years (or 2.5 tons per hour working around the clock)
- No location found for the removed 400,000 tons of stone
- Massive pillar over 100 feet tall carved by removing surrounding rock with precision
- Sophisticated drainage system carved in advance with no possibility for corrections
- Unique acoustic properties – sound amplifies and echoes in controlled, rhythmic patterns despite rock typically absorbing sound
- Strange handles, smooth holes and cavities of unknown purpose
- Drainage canals appear scooped out of rock, as if stone was melted and shaped
- Extensive underground passages believed to connect entire site through labyrinth of subterranean tunnels
- Four lion sculptures on roof form X shape from aerial view, possibly as aerial markers
- Minimal damage after 1,000 men worked for 3 years attempting to destroy it in 17th century
Origin Explanations
- Legend states temple was built in one week
- King Krishna I prayed to Hindu god Shiva for wife’s recovery and vowed to build temple
- Legend suggests king invoked divine intervention enabling rapid construction within a week
- Four lion sculptures converging into X shape may have been guides or signals for vimmanas (legendary flying vehicles from Hindu scriptures)
- Acoustic properties suggest frequencies calibrated for healing, spiritual awakening, and elevated states of consciousness based on ancient Vedic tradition
- Sound frequencies possibly designed to promote transcending to higher consciousness
- Advanced knowledge lost to history
Anuradha Pura – Sri Lanka
Unexplained Elements
- Saka Chakria (universe cycle) carving: 6 feet in diameter with seven concentric circles, crossed circles, unusual symbols, and marine animals
- Archaeologists and historians have no explanation for what it represents or where it came from
- Looks nothing like any other ancient carving found in Sri Lanka
- Origins and purpose remain completely mysterious
