When in doubt, zoom out.

From 40,000 feet, the patterns become clear.

Individual tragedies merge into historical cycles. Personal trauma reveals itself as collective transformation. The incomprehensible becomes inevitable.

From that height, September 11, 2001, was a flash point in an ancient pattern. Yesterday’s assassination of Charlie Kirk, another. The waves of trauma that seemed overwhelming at ground level appear, from altitude, as ripples in a vast turning.

Twenty-four years later, those ripples are returning to shore.

The View from Above

Throughout history, humans have responded to collective trauma the same way. We create systems to prevent the pain from recurring.

Those systems become prisons.
